Safaricom is the leading provider of converged communication solutions in Kenya. We are seeking a Product Manager - System Integrations to lead the design, development, and deployment of integrated solutions, reporting to the COE Lead – Integrated Solutions. These solutions encompass connectivity, digital transformation tools, public service platforms, and data management systems. The role requires close collaboration with internal teams, customers, and technology partners to deliver impactful solutions that drive operational efficiency, customer engagement, and service delivery.
Key Performance Indicators
- Product Performance & Quality: Percentage of system uptime, average incident resolution time, and User satisfaction scores (NPS).
- Stakeholder Engagement: Number of strategic partnerships developed and adherence to ICT policies and regulations.
- Innovation & Scalability: Deployment of new features tailored for customer needs, integration success rate with existing customer systems, and scalability across multiple jurisdictions/counties.
- Financial Impact: Growth in annual revenue from contracts, Average Revenue Per Account (ARPA), and cost savings generated for customers.
- Product Adoption: Number of customers onboarded.
Responsibilities
- Product Strategy and Development: Develop and own the product roadmap for integrated solutions. Recommend the nature and scope of present and future solutions by reviewing specifications and requirements. Provide technical and thought leadership throughout the product lifecycle (planning, design, implementation, and launch).
- Roadmap Management: Create user cases and detailed integrated product roadmap documents to articulate features. Identify opportunities for innovation and benchmark against competition.
- Partnership Management: Build relationships with and onboard technology partners required for the execution of integrated solutions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with sales teams to understand customer challenges and collaborate on value-driven proposals.
- Solution Deployment: Oversee implementation to ensure timely delivery and quality. Monitor performance and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with finance, operations, and compliance teams to ensure solutions meet internal standards and government regulations.
- Reporting and Metrics: Develop and track KPIs, publish reports on trends/risks, and support teams in managing business case metrics and financial planning models.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: A Business degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree (MBA/M.Sc) in Product Management or Technology Management is an added advantage.
- Experience: At least 5+ years of experience in product management, specifically in integrated solutions or technology-based offerings.
- Frameworks: Proficiency in Agile, Scrum, or Kanban frameworks.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with cloud computing, AI/ML, Data Analytics, APIs, system integrations, and SaaS solutions.
- Tools: Knowledge of MDM (Mobile Device Management) and experience with CRM & ERP platforms.
- Skills: Strong financial analysis skills including budgeting, forecasting, and ROI analysis. Ability to build roadmaps and set clear KPIs.
- Certifications: Certification in relevant technical areas (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and knowledge of regulatory requirements in the industry.
