St. Paul’s University is an ecumenical private chartered university founded in 1903. It is strategically located in the lush Kiambu County along Nairobi-Limuru Route A, 30kms from Nairobi, next to Jumuia Conference and Country Home with other campuses in Nairobi, Nakuru and Machakos.
Role Purpose
The Procurement Officer will manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, tendering, contracting, and supplier performance management. The primary objective is to ensure value for money, compliance with procurement policies and regulatory requirements, and the timely availability of goods, works, and services required by the University.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end procurement processes including sourcing and tendering.
Draft and manage supplier contracts and service level agreements.
Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure service quality and value for money.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with University policies and regulatory requirements.
Facilitate the timely availability of goods, works, and services required by various departments.
Manage contract negotiations and supplier relationships.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Certification: Professional certification such as CIPS, KISM, or equivalent is required.
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant procurement experience.
Expertise: Demonstrated experience managing tendering and sourcing processes.
Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of procurement regulations, contract management, and supplier performance management practices.
