The National Youth Service (NYS) is seeking to recruit 25 qualified individuals for the position of Privates - Motor Vehicle Mechanic. This is a paramilitary-based technical role aimed at helping youth discover and develop their potential while contributing to the nation's development. The successful candidates will be part of the government's comprehensive youth empowerment master plan. This position offers permanent and pensionable terms of service, including access to the SHA Scheme of Civil Servants.
Responsibilities
While specific daily duties are not detailed in the posting, as a Motor Vehicle Mechanic within the NYS, you will typically be expected to:
Perform diagnostic tests on vehicles to find faults.
Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g., leaks, electrical problems).

Requirements for Appointment
A minimum of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) D+ (plus) or its approved equivalent.
Must have undergone the initial NYS Paramilitary Training.
Be in possession of a National Trade Test, Craft, or Diploma Certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics.
Have no criminal record.
Senior Service Man/Woman (I and II) certificate required for the General Duty Cadre.
