Job Description
The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) is seeking to recruit a Principal Database & Applications Administrator. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the design, development, and implementation of Software application systems and models. This role is also responsible for designing, building, and implementing database systems to support the Authority's mandate of providing civilian oversight over the National Police Service in Kenya.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate the design, development, and implementation of software application systems and models.
Design, build, and implement robust database systems.
Manage the database lifecycle and ensure high availability of application systems.
Collaborate with other ICT units to ensure seamless integration and performance.
Requirements and Qualifications
Cumulative service period of nine (9) years, three (3) of which must have been at the grade of Senior Database and Applications Administrator (IPOA 7).
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Information Technology, Information Communication Technology, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Professional certification in web applications or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA).
Proficiency in any of the programming languages and database management systems.
Completion of a management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
Registration with a relevant Professional Body where applicable.
Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
