We are hiring on behalf of our client, a hospital based in Hola, Tana River County, for a qualified and licensed Pharmacist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and running the hospital pharmacy efficiently while ensuring proper dispensing, medication management, compliance with pharmaceutical regulations, and delivery of quality patient care. The candidate should possess strong professional ethics, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Pharmacy Operations: Manage daily pharmacy operations efficiently and professionally.
- Medication Dispensing: Dispense prescribed medication accurately and responsibly.
- Storage & Handling: Ensure proper storage, handling, and management of pharmaceutical products.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate pharmacy records and inventory systems.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and coordinate procurement of medicines and supplies.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and hospital policies.
- Patient Guidance: Provide medication guidance and counseling to patients where necessary.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure proper patient care.
- Quality Control: Monitor expiry dates and ensure proper disposal of expired medication.
- Environment Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization within the pharmacy.
- Documentation: Prepare pharmacy reports and maintain proper documentation.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or a related field.
- Must possess a valid practicing license.
- Registered and licensed to practice as a Pharmacist in Kenya.
- Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical operations and medication management.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision.
