Pharmacist (Hospital Setting)

Key Responsibilities

• Operations Management: Manage daily pharmacy operations efficiently and professionally.
• Medication Dispensing: Dispense prescribed medication accurately and responsibly while providing guidance and counseling to patients where necessary.
• Inventory Control: Ensure proper storage, handling, and management of pharmaceutical products; monitor stock levels and coordinate procurement of medicines and supplies.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate pharmacy records, inventory systems, and documentation; prepare pharmacy reports.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and hospital policies; monitor expiry dates and ensure proper disposal of expired medication.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure proper patient care.
• Safety: Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization within the pharmacy.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or a related field.
• Licensing: Must possess a valid practicing license and be registered to practice as a Pharmacist in Kenya.
• Experience: Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting is an added advantage.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of pharmaceutical operations and medication management.
• Interpersonal Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently.
• Ethics: High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
