Laboratory Technician II Pathology

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain specialized laboratory equipment for pathology and cytology studies.
• Prepare biological specimens, chemical reagents, and slides for pathological examination and teaching purposes.
• Assist academic staff and students during laboratory practicals and research projects.
• Ensure strict adherence to laboratory safety protocols and health standards.
• Manage laboratory inventory, including the procurement and storage of reagents and consumables.
• Record and maintain accurate data from laboratory experiments and tests.
• Participate in community and institutional development through membership in boards or committees.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in Cell Biology with an MSc in Cytology or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• A minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional work experience.
• Active membership in relevant professional bodies.
• Previous experience working in a higher institution of learning is an added advantage.
• Evidence of community involvement (e.g., serving as a member of a Board of Governors or School Management Committee).
