Job Description
The Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) is a State Corporation responsible for carrying out health research in Kenya. The institute is seeking to recruit Pharmacists for its projects. This role involves the professional management, dispensing, and accountability of medications and investigational products within a research setting.
Key Responsibilities
Dispense investigational products and other concomitant medications to study participants.
Verify and maintain detailed information relating to study participants to ensure safety and protocol compliance.
Manage the ordering and recording of drugs and other medical supplies.
Ensure safe custody and proper storage of drugs according to pharmaceutical standards.
Maintain a working environment that meets all stipulated regulatory and safety requirements.
Perform data entry tasks and resolve any queries raised in a timely manner.
Ensure full accountability of study drugs and all related section consumables.
Compile and share section reports on a regular basis.
Participate in the development and review of section documents, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Perform other professional duties as assigned.
Vacancy Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
Registration Certificate issued by the Kenya Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
