Equip Africa Institute, an affiliate of Mount Kenya University, is seeking a qualified, dynamic, and visionary professional to fill the position of Perioperative Theatre Technology Trainer at their Thika campus.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Delivery: Plan, prepare and teach the assigned units, as outlined in the course syllabus and in line with the curriculum.
Learning Materials & Records: Develop learning materials, prepare and submit professional records in a timely manner, and maintain accurate records of student progress, achievement, and attendance.
Individualized Learning: Plan, develop, and deliver appropriate learning plans tailored to individual student needs.
Assessment & Evaluation: Assess students' work, monitor achievement, examine and mark Trainees’ Assessment Tests (C.A.Ts) and end-of-term assessments, and upload marks in the MIS in a timely fashion.
Practical Training: Conduct practical instructions for trainees and assist them in maintaining their portfolios of evidence.
Supervision & Curriculum Development: Supervise students during assessments, take part in the course review process, adapt delivery patterns, and contribute to the planning and implementation of a high-quality curriculum.
Collaboration: Participate in departmental meetings and perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
Registered Nurse status with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).
Minimum of three (3) years of training experience in a similar institution.
Valid Technical Trainer Registration by TVETA.
