Job Description
The Perioperative Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures across pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative stages. The role ensures that patients receive high-quality care during the entire surgical process, maintaining a safe and sterile environment while assisting the surgical team.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare patients for surgical procedures, ensuring they are mentally and physically ready.
Maintain sterile surgical environments and adhere to infection control protocols.
Assist surgeons and the surgical team during procedures as a scrub or circulating nurse.
Monitor patient recovery and manage immediate post-operative care in the recovery room.
Requirements
Must be a Registered Nurse with a valid Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) license.
Must hold a Higher Diploma in Perioperative Nursing.
Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
