Job Description
Chiromo Hospital Group (CHG) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Patient Attendant to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our patients in a psychiatric hospital setting. The position includes significant responsibilities regarding patient care assistance and requires a valid driver’s license for safe patient transfers using hospital vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care Assistance
Assist patients with daily activities, including feeding, grooming, and mobility, while maintaining dignity and respect.
Monitor and report changes in patients’ behavior or condition to nursing staff.
Transportation of Patients
Safely transport patients to appointments, therapy sessions, or other facilities using hospital vehicles.
Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and ready for use.
Bed Making and Room Maintenance
Prepare and maintain patient beds and living areas to ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
Assist with light housekeeping duties as needed.
Support During Therapeutic Activities
Accompany patients to recreational or therapeutic activities and out-of-the-hospital procedures, providing support and supervision.
Intervene to reduce risks of self-harm or harm to others.
Document unusual behaviors or safety concerns for the clinical team.
Assist in restraining patients when necessary, following proper guidelines.
Documentation
Record patient interactions, vital signs, and incidents accurately and promptly.
Key Requirements
Qualification: BA/BSc/HND degree.
Experience: At least 2 years’ experience in a psychiatric hospital setting.
Licensing: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and empathy.
Resilience: Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
