The university is seeking to recruit qualified and experienced individuals as Part-time Tutors in Clinical Medicine to support its human resource development goals.
Role Overview
The successful candidates will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality instruction in Clinical Medicine. The role involves curriculum implementation, student assessment, and maintaining academic records to ensure progressive student achievement.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction and Delivery: Plan, prepare, and teach assigned units as outlined in the course curriculum and outlines.
Learning Materials: Develop learning materials and maintain professional records to monitor student progress, achievement, and attendance.
Individualized Support: Plan, develop, and deliver appropriate learning plans for individual students.
Assessment and Marking: Examine and mark Trainees’ Assessment Tests (C.A.Ts and end-of-term assessments) and timely upload marks into the Management Information System (MIS).
Practical Instruction: Carry out practical instructions for trainees and maintain their portfolios of evidence.
Supervision: Supervise students during assessments and examinations.
Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development, planning, and implementation of a high-quality curriculum and participate in the course review process.
Administrative Duties: Participate in departmental meetings and perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements and Qualifications
Academic Qualification: An earned Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Medicine or a relevant area from a recognized/accredited university.
Experience: At least three (3) years of teaching experience in a similar institution.
Certifications:
Must be registered as a Trainer by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA).
Must be registered by the relevant Professional Body (where applicable).
Completion of pedagogy training.
Additional Assets: Relevant work experience in the industry is an added advantage.
Requirements for Language Short Courses (If applicable)
For candidates interested in teaching short courses in German, Italian, French, English, or Kiswahili:
An earned B2 Proficiency Level certificate or degree in the relevant language (e.g., Goethe-Zertifikat, CELI, DELF, or a degree in Linguistics).
At least two (2) years of teaching experience in a similar institution, preferably up to B2 level.
Experience with CEFR-aligned curricula and communicative teaching methodologies.
