Part-Time Trainers in Maritime Transport and Logistics

Key Responsibilities

• Teach courses in navigation, ship stability, meteorology, cargo handling, and maritime law.
• Deliver practical training in bridge simulation, chart work, and voyage planning.
• Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments aligned with IMO STCW standards.
• Mentor and guide cadets in academic and professional development.
• Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Support students in preparation for certification exams and onboard training.
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the nautical science curriculum.
• Integrate emerging technologies and industry practices into training modules.
• Ensure training programs meet national and international maritime education standards.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessments.
• Work closely with other trainers, academic staff, and industry partners.
• Participate in faculty meetings, workshops, and professional development activities.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Transport and Logistics, or its equivalent in a relevant field.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized university is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 2-3 years’ sea service and prior teaching or training experience in a maritime institution is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Registered member of a relevant professional body in good standing will be an added advantage.
