This is a part-time lecturing position focusing on Natural Language Processing (NLP) at The Open University of Kenya (OUK). OUK is committed to addressing the limited capacity of traditional universities by implementing innovative teaching and learning methodologies, including online and distance education. The appointed lecturers will be responsible for delivering specialized academic content in NLP and providing comprehensive student support through digital platforms and flexible learning modes.
Required Qualifications and Competencies
For appointment to this grade, candidates MUST fulfill the following requirements:
Educational Background:
Possess an earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field (Natural Language Processing or closely related area) from an accredited University; OR
Hold a Master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited University (acceptable in special cases) coupled with at least three (3) years of university-level teaching experience and be registered in good standing for a PhD in the relevant field.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience at university level is required for Master's degree holders.
Technical Proficiency: Must be computer literate with the requisite ability to manage and handle digital content (required for all posts).
Online Pedagogy: Demonstrated ability to effectively support student learning in an online environment (essential for part-time lecturers).
