Part-Time Lecturers - Learning Technologies and Educational Change

The Open University of Kenya aims to address the pressing issue of limited capacity in traditional universities by employing innovative teaching and learning methodologies, including online and distance education. By leveraging technology and flexible learning modes, the university seeks to accommodate a larger number of qualified students.

This role requires Part-Time Lecturers specializing in Learning Technologies and Educational Change to support the university's mandate for digital learning delivery.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

For appointment to this grade, candidates MUST meet the following criteria:

1. Educational Attainment:

   • Hold an earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited University; OR
   • Hold a Master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited University (in special cases) with at least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level and be registered in good standing for a PhD in the relevant field.

2. Technical Skills:

   • Be computer literate with the ability to handle digital content (for all posts).
   • Possess the ability to support student online (specifically required for part-time lecturers).
