Job Description
The Open University of Kenya aims to address the pressing issue of limited capacity in traditional universities by employing innovative teaching and learning methodologies, including online and distance education. By leveraging technology and flexible learning modes, the university seeks to accommodate a larger number of qualified students, enabling them to access quality higher education.
The university is seeking qualified Part-time Lecturers to teach and facilitate courses in Leadership Theories and Models. The role aims to leverage online and distance learning methodologies to provide high-quality education to a diverse student body.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Prepare and deliver digital learning content on leadership theories and models.
Support and guide students in an online, distance-learning environment.
Assess student assignments, exams, and continuous assessments.
Stay updated with academic standards and incorporate interactive online teaching methods.
Required Qualifications and Competencies
For appointment, one MUST have:
An earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited University; OR A Master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited University (in special cases) with at least three (3) years teaching experience at university level and registered in good standing for a PhD in the relevant field.
Be computer literate with the ability to handle digital content (for all posts) and ability to support students online (for part-time lecturers).
An updated CV (including full academic details, professional qualifications, experience, professional memberships, and names/addresses of three referees).
