Part-Time Lecturers - Instructional Design

The Open University of Kenya is hiring Part-Time Lecturers specializing in Instructional Design. The university aims to address the pressing issue of limited capacity in traditional universities by employing innovative teaching and learning methodologies, including online and distance education. This role is crucial in leveraging technology and flexible learning modes to accommodate a larger number of qualified students, enabling them to realize their potential.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

For appointment to this grade, candidates MUST meet the following criteria:

1. Education/Experience:
   • An earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited University.
   • OR A Master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited University (in special cases) with at least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level and registered in good standing for a PhD in the relevant field.
2. Technical Skills:
   • Be computer literate with the ability to handle digital content (applicable for all posts).
   • Possess the ability to support students online (specific requirement for part-time lecturers).
