Part-Time Lecturers - Graphic Design

This role involves serving as a Part-Time Lecturer specializing in Graphic Design at The Open University of Kenya (OUK). OUK aims to address the pressing issue of limited capacity in traditional universities by employing innovative teaching and learning methodologies, including online and distance education. By leveraging technology and flexible learning modes, the university seeks to accommodate a larger number of qualified students, enabling them to pursue their education. The primary purpose of this role is to deliver specialized academic instruction and support students, especially within an online learning environment.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

For appointment to this grade, candidates MUST meet the following criteria:

Education and Experience:

1. Possess an earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited University; OR
2. Possess a Master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited University (applicable in special cases) combined with at least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level, and must be registered in good standing for a Ph.D. in the relevant field.

Technical and Teaching Skills:

• Be computer literate with the ability to handle digital content (required for all posts).
• Possess the ability to support students online (specifically crucial for part-time lecturers).
