Part-Time Lecturers - Global Health and Diplomacy

This role is for a Part-Time Lecturer in Global Health and Diplomacy at The Open University of Kenya (OUK). OUK utilizes innovative teaching and learning methodologies, including online and distance education, to expand capacity and accommodate a larger number of qualified students. By leveraging technology and flexible learning modes, the university seeks to accommodate a larger number of qualified students, enabling them to pursue higher education.

As a Part-Time Lecturer, your primary responsibility will involve delivering academic instruction and providing comprehensive support to students within the Global Health and Diplomacy discipline, primarily utilizing online and digital learning platforms.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

For appointment to this grade, candidates MUST meet the following criteria:

• Academic Qualification Option 1: An earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited University.
• Academic Qualification Option 2 (In special cases): A Master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited University, combined with at least three (3) years of teaching experience at a university level, AND must be registered in good standing for a Ph.D. in the relevant field.
• Technical Proficiency: Be computer literate with the ability to handle digital content (mandatory for all posts).
• Online Engagement: Demonstrated ability to support student engagement and learning online (mandatory for part-time lecturers).
