Part Time Lecturers - Geotechnical Engineering

The role of Part Time Lecturer in Geotechnical Engineering is situated within The Open University of Kenya (OUK), which aims to address the pressing issue of limited capacity in traditional universities by employing innovative teaching and learning methodologies, including online and distance education. By leveraging technology and flexible learning modes, the university seeks to accommodate a larger number of qualified students. Successful candidates will be responsible for delivering specialized instruction in Geotechnical Engineering and supporting students effectively in an online environment.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

For appointment to this grade, one MUST have the following qualifications:

1. Education and Experience Pathways:

• Pathway A (PhD): An earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited University.
• OR Pathway B (Masters in special cases): A Master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited University AND at least three (3) years teaching experience at university level AND be registered in good standing for PhD in the relevant field.

2. Digital Proficiency:

• Be computer literate with the ability to handle digital content (required for all posts).
• Demonstrate the ability to support students online (required specifically for part-time lecturers).
