Part Time Lecturers - Fluid Mechanics

Role Overview

The Open University of Kenya seeks qualified individuals for the position of Part-Time Lecturers specializing in Fluid Mechanics. This role is crucial in supporting the University's mission to expand capacity in higher education through innovative, technology-driven online and distance learning methodologies.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

For appointment to this grade, candidates MUST meet the following criteria:

1. Educational Attainment:

   • Possess an earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field (Fluid Mechanics or related Engineering discipline) from an accredited University; OR
   • Hold a Master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited University (acceptable in special cases) combined with a minimum of three (3) years of university-level teaching experience, and must be registered in good standing for a PhD in the relevant field.

2. Technical Proficiency:

   • Be computer literate with a demonstrated ability to handle digital content relevant to the course material (required for all posts).
   • Demonstrate ability to effectively support students online, characteristic of the requirements for part-time lecturers in a digital learning environment.
