Part Time Lecturers - Applied Mechanics

The Open University of Kenya aims to address the pressing issue of limited capacity in traditional universities by employing innovative teaching and learning methodologies, including online and distance education. By leveraging technology and flexible learning modes, the university seeks to accommodate a larger number of qualified students, enabling them to pursue their education.

This position is for Part-Time Lecturers in Applied Mechanics. The role involves academic instruction and supporting students in an online/distance learning environment within the specified field.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

For appointment to this grade, candidates MUST meet the following criteria:

1. Education and Experience:
   • An earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited University; OR
   • A Master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited University (in special cases) with at least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level and registered in good standing for a PhD in the relevant field.
2. Technical Skills:
   • Be computer literate with the ability to handle digital content (for all posts).
   • Ability to support students online (specifically required for part-time lecturers).
