We are currently seeking a qualified and dedicated Part-Time Lecturer in Nephrology Nursing to provide high-quality instruction and contribute to the academic excellence of our nursing programs.
Role Overview
The Part-Time Lecturer will be responsible for delivering academic instruction in the specialized field of Nephrology Nursing. This includes teaching undergraduate or postgraduate students, developing instructional materials, and ensuring that clinical and theoretical knowledge is effectively communicated.
Responsibilities and Duties
Deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in Nephrology Nursing.
Prepare and update course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, and assignments in accordance with university standards.
Conduct student assessments, including the setting and marking of examinations and practical tests.
Supervise student clinical placements and practical labs where necessary.
Provide academic mentorship and guidance to students.
Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum reviews.
For those teaching at the postgraduate level, engage in research and publication in refereed journals.
Adhere to the university's academic policies and quality assurance procedures.
Requirements for Appointment
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
A Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in the relevant field (Nephrology Nursing or related clinical nursing specialty) from a recognized University.
OR
A Master’s degree in the relevant field with at least two (2) years of University teaching or industry experience.
Professional Requirements
Evidence of teaching experience at the University level and/or relevant industry experience.
Registration with relevant professional bodies (e.g., Nursing Council of Kenya) where applicable.
Evidence of research and publications in refereed journals will be an added advantage (essential for postgraduate teaching).
Documented proof of previous university-level teaching appointments is mandatory.
