We are currently seeking a Part-Time Lecturer specializing in Medical-Surgical Nursing. The successful candidate will deliver market-driven instruction designed to enable students to develop hands-on skills necessary for job creation and employment at a competitive rate.
Responsibilities and Duties
Deliver comprehensive lectures and practical training in Medical-Surgical Nursing to undergraduate students.
Evaluate and assess student performance through coursework, practical assignments, and examinations.
Mentor and guide students to ensure they meet professional and ethical nursing standards.
Conduct research and contribute to scholarly publications in refereed journals (particularly for postgraduate teaching levels).
Participate in departmental activities and collaborate with faculty to maintain state-of-the-art teaching, learning, and research facilities.
Requirements for Appointment
Academic Qualifications:
A Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in the relevant field from a recognized University; OR
A Master’s degree in the relevant field with at least two (2) years of University teaching or relevant industry experience.
Professional Requirements:
Demonstrated evidence of teaching experience at the University level and/or relevant industry experience.
Registration with relevant professional bodies (e.g., Nursing Council of Kenya) where applicable.
Evidence of research and publications in refereed journals will be an added advantage (specifically for those interested in postgraduate teaching).
Must provide letters of appointment as a lecturer or evidence supporting University teaching experience to avoid disqualification.
