Job Description
Bomet University College is a premier Green University dedicated to fostering research excellence in Science, Technology, and Innovation for sustainability. The university is seeking qualified and highly motivated individuals to fill the position of Part-Time Lecturer in Educational Foundations (specializing in Sociology of Education, Philosophy of Education, and History of Education).
Role Purpose
Successful applicants will be expected to support the University's core mandate of teaching, training, and mentorship of students. They will play an essential role in delivering curricula and enhancing academic performance within the Department.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake teaching and instruction of undergraduate/postgraduate courses within the assigned specialization areas (Sociology of Education, Philosophy of Education, and History of Education).
Prepare course materials, lecture notes, and study guides.
Supervise student research, coursework, and practical exercises.
Evaluate and grade student academic progress, examinations, and coursework.
Provide academic mentorship, guidance, and counseling to students.
Maintain high academic standards and participate in departmental quality assurance initiatives.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Possess a minimum of a PhD degree in the relevant field of Educational Foundations from a recognized university.
Experience: Have at least two (2) years of teaching experience at the university level. This must be evidenced by documentation such as letters of appointment or contracts from previous university engagements.
Publications: Demonstrate evidence of having published research work in credible refereed journals.
Academic Verification: Applicants with foreign academic qualifications must provide recognition and verification certificates from the Commission for University Education (CUE) or the National Qualification Authority (NQA).
