Responsibilities
Deliver lectures and practical sessions in Biostatistics to undergraduate or postgraduate students.
Develop and update course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, and assessment tools.
Evaluate student performance through exams, assignments, and practical projects.
Provide mentorship and academic guidance to students.
Contribute to the academic environment of the college through participation in departmental activities.
For postgraduate teaching, engage in research and publish findings in refereed journals.
Requirements and Qualifications
Academic Qualification: A Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biostatistics or a relevant field from a recognized University; OR a Master’s degree in Biostatistics or a relevant field with at least two (2) years of University teaching or industry experience.
Professional Experience: Demonstrable evidence of teaching experience at the University level and/or relevant industry experience.
Professional Registration: Registration with relevant professional bodies where applicable.
Research: Evidence of research and publications in refereed journals is an added advantage, particularly for candidates involved in postgraduate teaching.
Documentation: Applicants must provide letters of appointment as a lecturer and other relevant supporting documents to verify experience. Lack of evidence supporting University teaching experience will lead to disqualification.
