Role Overview
The Open University of Kenya is seeking qualified Part-time Lecturers to deliver instruction in Big Data Analytics with Apache Hadoop. The university leverages technology and flexible, online/distance learning modes to provide quality education to a diverse student body. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, managing, and delivering digital content and supporting students online.
Responsibilities and Duties
Deliver high-quality lectures and instruction on Big Data Analytics with Apache Hadoop.
Develop and curate digital course content suitable for online and distance learning formats.
Guide, mentor, and support students through the university's online learning management platform.
Evaluate student performance through assignments, practical work, and examinations.
Maintain high academic standards and participate in virtual academic support activities.
Qualifications and Experience
An earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited university; OR
A Master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited university (in special cases) with at least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level, and registered in good standing for a Ph.D. in the relevant field.
High computer literacy with the proven ability to handle digital content and support students online.
An updated CV featuring full academic details, professional qualifications, experience, membership with professional bodies, and names/addresses of three referees.
