Part Time Lecturer - Applied Mechanics

The Open University of Kenya (OUK) aims to address the pressing issue of limited capacity in traditional universities by employing innovative teaching and learning methodologies, including online and distance education. By leveraging technology and flexible learning modes, the university seeks to accommodate a larger number of qualified students.

This position is for a Part Time Lecturer specializing in Applied Mechanics, responsible for delivering high-quality academic content and supporting students within OUK's flexible digital learning environment.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

For appointment to this grade, one MUST have:

1. Primary Qualification Pathway:
   • An earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field (Applied Mechanics or a closely related area) from an accredited University.
2. Alternative Qualification Pathway (In special cases):
   • A Master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited University.
   • At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level.
   • Registered in good standing for a Ph.D. in the relevant field.

General Requirements (Mandatory for all posts)

• Be computer literate with the ability to handle digital content.
• Ability to support students effectively online.
