Job Description
Java House is seeking an Operations Team Member to join the team in Nanyuki. The candidate will play a critical role in providing excellent service, ensuring high standards of food safety, cleanliness, guest satisfaction, and team efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities
Deliver food orders from the kitchen to tables promptly and accurately.
Ensure food presentation, temperature, and quality meet restaurant standards.
Communicate with kitchen and service staff regarding order status and guest needs.
Maintain the cleanliness of the waiter stations and the restaurant.
Always follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Assist with restocking condiments.
Support opening and closing duties as assigned depending on the business dynamics.
Maintain clean, tidy, and working tables at all times. Present a variety of menu options and take lead on suggestive selling based on customer preferences.
Consistently follow the set Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during production.
Take orders and deliver them to the table neatly and accurately in accordance with the ticket specification, present bills on time, and accept payment.
Clean pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, guest and staff toilets, equipment/machines, and sanitize general kitchen areas.
Ensure proper waste management by disposing of bins and cleaning grease traps.
Food preparation, presentation, correct storage, and production of the right quality.
Assist wait staff during busy shifts to reduce customer wait time and ensure all meals are served hot and fresh.
Ensure correct use of detergent.
Qualifications & Skills
Good planner, with the ability to think and make quick decisions under pressure, along with strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
Flexible, team player, highly responsible, and reliable.
Customer-oriented with excellent customer care technique and application.
Ability to upsell and inform guests on new menu products.
Result-oriented, self-driven, articulate, and proactive.
In-house training in service.
6 months working experience as a certified Java House staff or equivalent.
Special Conditions of Employment
Must have a KCSE certificate with a mean grade of C plain.
Must be interested in the hospitality industry.
Should have a sound menu and product knowledge.
Should have been in the company for at least six months or have equivalent skills from a food and beverage setup.
