Key Responsibilities
Cluster Management
- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of OpenShift clusters, including control plane, worker nodes, and networking.
Containerized Application Deployment
- Deploying and managing containerized applications within OpenShift, including image building, registry management, and application lifecycle management.
CI/CD Pipeline Implementation
- Setting up and managing continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for automating application deployments.
Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
- Using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
Troubleshooting and Performance Optimization
- Diagnosing and resolving issues related to OpenShift performance, stability, and security.
Security & Automation
- Implementing and enforcing security best practices for OpenShift clusters and containerized applications.
- Developing and maintaining automation scripts to streamline OpenShift operations.
Monitoring and Logging
- Setting up and maintaining monitoring and logging systems to track OpenShift cluster and application health.
- Implementing and managing the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for logging and monitoring.
- Developing and maintaining dashboards and alerts for monitoring Kubernetes clusters and applications.
- Analyzing log data to identify performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: BA/BSc/HND degree in a relevant technical discipline.
- OpenShift Experience: Extensive hands-on experience with OpenShift, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Containerization: Understanding of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker), container registries, and container orchestration.
- ELK Stack: Hands-on experience implementing and managing the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for logging and monitoring.
- CI/CD: Experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC): Experience with IaC tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar.
- Scripting & Programming: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and/or programming languages (e.g., Go, Java).
- Cloud Computing (Optional): Understanding of cloud computing concepts and platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving and communication skills for troubleshooting issues and collaborating with other teams.
