Job Description
The University of Nairobi, the pioneer institution of university education in Kenya and the region, is seeking a qualified Office Assistant. This role is responsible for providing essential administrative and clerical support within the university's operations, particularly for donor-funded research projects.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive administrative and clerical support to the office staff and management.
Manage and direct incoming telephone calls and electronic mail correspondence.
Oversee the procurement, handling, and inventory management of office supplies.
Maintain high standards of office cleanliness and organization.
Ensure a warm and professional reception for all visitors to the office.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive information and project data.
Job Specifications
Must possess a Diploma in any of the following fields: Business Administration, Office Management, Secretarial Studies, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
A minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience, preferably within a donor-funded research project.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
A high level of integrity and professional ethics.
