Job Description
Penda Health is seeking a dedicated Nursing Officer to ensure high-quality service and an excellent patient experience. The role involves standardized patient triaging, management of emergencies, and delivering high-quality Maternal and Child Health (MCH) and Family Planning (FP) services alongside other outpatient procedures within an evidence-based medical system.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive and high-quality clinical services, including initial assessment of patients, triaging, MCH/FP, and nursing procedures.
Administer IV or IM medications following nursing best practices.
Maintain the Medical Centre's readiness by ensuring it is well-stocked with supplies and equipment, including sterile items for general and emergency cases.
Serve as an Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Champion by implementing IPC best practices and adhering to Penda Health’s protocols.
Accurately record patient data in the electronic medical record system in real-time.
Fulfill Ministry of Health (MoH) reporting requirements ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
Provide quality patient education and ensure a superior experience for all clients.
Engage in continuous professional development to remain current with medical advancements and technology.
Collaborate with the Nursing Officer in-charge and branch manager to identify areas for operational and clinical improvement.
Work as a supportive team member, contributing to a positive work environment and occasionally performing additional tasks as assigned.
Adhere to all ethical and legal standards governing healthcare delivery.
Requirements & Qualifications
Diploma in Nursing (KRCHN) from a recognized institution.
A valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).
Mandatory valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is an added advantage.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a busy healthcare facility.
Demonstrated experience in Maternal and Child Health (MCH) and Family Planning (FP).
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and outstanding patient interaction skills.
Proficiency in using electronic health records and other digital health tools.
