National Volunteer – Peacebuilding & DRR Advisor

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of conflict-sensitive peacebuilding and disaster risk reduction interventions under the RECAP project.
• Strengthen community-based peace mechanisms to ensure local and regional stability.
• Enhance community preparedness for climate-related and disaster-related shocks.
• Promote peaceful coexistence and build resilience in cross-border communities around Moyale and Sololo sub-counties.
• Facilitate positive change and build sustainable working relationships with local stakeholders.
• Seek and share knowledge to improve project outcomes and community impact.

Requirements

• A minimum of a BA/BSc/HND in a relevant field of study.
• Interest in or knowledge of conflict-sensitive peacebuilding and disaster risk reduction.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-border community settings (specifically Moyale and Sololo).
• Commitment to VSO’s core values and volunteer-based development models.
