About the Role
AGL (Africa Global Logistics), a reference multimodal logistics operator in Africa and part of the MSC family, is seeking a in Mombasa. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing yard operations, coordinating the receipt and delivery of vehicle units, supervising personnel, and ensuring safety standards and operational efficiency in the motor vehicle yard.
Motor Vehicle Supervisor
Key Responsibilities
Yard Coordination: Ensure all nominated units are received in yard from port safe and intact.
Unit Verification: Ensure all the units are tallied by respective agencies (BV/Mct staff) then positioned in the blocks and locked by the assigned clerk/drivers.
Supervision: Coordinating and supervising all the activities in motor vehicle of assigned personnel.
Incident Management: Ensure all the incidences happening in the motor vehicle yard are recorded through a statement in the incident form by all parties involved and reported to the management for appropriate action.
Health and Safety: Ensure safety and safe working process/condition are always adhered to at all times.
Resource Planning: Ensure proper planning of the human resource in yard to ensure operations do not suffer due to lack of personnel.
Reporting: Submitting of all yard operations/performance report everyday by close of the business.
Liaison & Escalation: Liaise with port supervisor to ensure that all dispatched units are received in yard. Ensure all units received from port with issues like i.e. dents, damages missing items anomalies are well documented and escalated to the management highlighting the same for action.
Documentation Check: Confirm that all documentation for the released units meet the threshold set by MCT management. Examine release documents (gate passes) genuine/valid by checking in the system.
Updates: Provide yard factual reports of 24hrs operations. Updating units received / delivered / verified through email in hourly and daily.
Support: Assist yard manager in yard operations while off duty or leave. Participate in any other duties that shall be reasonably assigned by management from time to time.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
Education: Bachelors' Degree/Diploma in Port Operations Management/Transport and Logistics Management or related field.
Experience: 3 years' experience in yard operations, vehicle logistics, port operations, terminal operations, or fleet management.
Knowledge: Knowledge of Vehicle yard management, Port and terminal operations.
