About the Role
AGL (Africa Global Logistics), the reference multimodal logistics operator in Africa and part of the MSC family, is seeking a Gate Pass Clerk. Based in Mombasa, Kenya, this role is responsible for ensuring that all documentation received from clearing agents is complete and compliant before initiating gate pass processing. The position involves data uploading, document tracking, status reporting, and resolving client inquiries to ensure efficient logistical flow.
Key Responsibilities
Document Verification: Verify that all documents received from clearing agents are in order before proceeding for gate pass processing. This includes confirming MCT invoice and receipts are attached, confirming KPA copy of delivery order is attached and valid, and confirming port pass of clearing agent is attached and valid.
Gate Pass Processing: Upload data into the ipaki system and print gate passes. Ensure gate passes are signed by authorized personnel, split them, and distribute them to the valid, authorized personnel.
Tracking & Follow-up: Coordinate with shipping lines to retrieve CFS copies of delivery orders. Receive exited gate passes from the security team / allocated personnel daily and ensure everything is in order.
Filing & Archiving: File KPA delivery orders and ensure closed gate passes are sent to the filing room promptly.
Reporting: Prepare daily and monthly status reports for consolidators and send them by email within the allocated time.
Accountability: Keep a log of gate passes that are on credit facility or manual gate passes and follow up on their closure. Support the finance department with Statement of Accounts (SOA) requests when needed.
Customer Support: Answer internal and external client queries regarding gate passes and releasing procedures.
Other Duties: Perform any other duties as directed by management.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Diploma in Business Administration, Clearing & Forwarding, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
System Knowledge: Experience in KWATOS will be an added advantage.
