Role Overview\nEnergy 4 Impact (a Mercy Corps company) is seeking an internationally experienced Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting Expert to support the Nigerian Energy Support Programme (NESP III) in the development of off-grid renewable energy projects. This role is central to ensuring high-quality documentation, visibility, and learning throughout the project's implementation. Working closely with the Team Leader and technical experts, the expert will track progress across all workstreams, ensure coherence between activities and project objectives, and support transparent, timely reporting to the client.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n\n#### Monitoring, Tracking & Documentation\n- Track all project activities, outputs, and achievements to ensure alignment with assignment objectives and expected impacts.\n- Maintain a clear, structured overview of milestones, deliverables, and progress indicators across all work packages.\n- Support the Team Leader in consolidating milestones and reporting on the assignment, as well as preparing inputs for NESP reporting to its funders.\n\n#### Reporting & Knowledge Management\n- Ensure timely preparation of high-quality reports, briefs, and progress updates in line with GIZ requirements.\n- Document major milestones, outcomes, and impacts to enhance visibility and accountability to funders and stakeholders.\n- Prepare lessons learned, case studies, and knowledge products to support sector-wide learning and dissemination.\n\n#### Communications & Visibility\n- Advise on communication strategies and plans to ensure effective visibility of project progress and outcomes.\n- Support the development of communication materials that highlight achievements, innovations, and impacts in off-grid renewable energy.\n- Ensure that communication outputs are coherent, accurate, and aligned with GIZ visibility guidelines.\n\n#### Collaboration & Support\n- Work closely with the Team Leader and technical experts to ensure consistent, coordinated reporting across all work packages.\n- Provide ongoing support to ensure that monitoring and reporting processes are embedded in day-to-day implementation.\n- Contribute to internal coordination, ensuring that information flows smoothly between experts and task orders.\n\n#### Safeguarding\n- Actively learn about and integrate safeguarding risks and mitigations into all work areas.\n- Practice Mercy Corps values, respecting the dignity and well-being of participants and team members.\n\n### Required Qualifications & Experience\n\n#### Education\n- Master’s degree (or equivalent, e.g., German Diploma) in communications, public policy, international development, or a related field.\n\n#### Professional Experience\n- General: Minimum 10 years of professional experience in the power sector, working with both public and private entities. At least 5 of these years must have been acquired within the last 6 years.\n- Specific: At least 5 years in communications and reporting of renewable energy projects, 3 of which must be in rural electrification projects under international development.\n- International experience: At least 4 years in a country with an economy in transition outside the West Africa region.\n- Regional experience: At least 2 years of professional experience in West Africa, including a minimum of 1 year in Nigeria.\n- Development Cooperation: At least 3 years of experience working on development cooperation projects.\n\n#### Languages\n- Excellent command of English (C1 level, CEFR).\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply via the Mercy Corps application portal at https://www.myjobmag.co.ke/apply-now/1163347.
