Job Description
The International School of Kenya (ISK) is a leading educational institution known for its culture of quality, care, and limitless opportunities. We are seeking a Middle School Math-Science Teacher for a 40% part-time position for the 2026-27 school year. We provide an environment where students are supported in personalizing their learning and exploring academic interests.
Responsibilities
Teach Mathematics and Science at the Middle School level using a student-centered approach.
Implement conceptual inquiry and pedagogical approaches aligned with the school's mission.
Design and assess curriculum using the Understanding by Design (UbD) model.
Integrate Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) into classroom practices.
Effectively utilize Educational Technology to enhance student engagement and learning.
Foster an inclusive learning environment through cultural proficiency and professional communication.
Adhere to Common Core State Standards for Mathematics and Next Generation Science Standards.
Qualifications and Requirements
University Bachelor's degree or equivalent (Advanced degree in Education is desirable).
Valid teacher certification from an accredited university or college.
Degree and certification must be relevant to the teaching position.
Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant teaching experience.
Experience in an International School setting is highly preferred.
Experience with 'Building Thinking Classrooms' in Mathematics and 'Open Sci Ed' is preferred.
