Role Overview\n\nThe National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI), established under the STI Act 2013, is seeking to appoint three (3) Members to its Board. These roles involve providing strategic leadership and oversight to ensure the Commission fulfills its mandate in regulating and assuring quality in the Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) sector in Kenya.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n\n* Providing strategic direction and governance to the Commission.\n* Ensuring the Commission adheres to its statutory mandate under the STI Act 2013.\n* Formulating policies and frameworks that promote and regulate science and technology within the country.\n* Ensuring organizational compliance with national laws and constitutional requirements.\n* Monitoring the Commission's performance and financial health.\n\n### Requirements for Appointment\n\nTo qualify for appointment as a Member of the NACOSTI Board, applicants must meet the following criteria:\n\n* Hold a Master’s degree from a University recognized in Kenya.\n* Have demonstrated knowledge and experience in science, technology, and innovation.\n* Be capable of making significant contributions to the science, technology, and innovation sector.\n* Be a person of high moral character and integrity, in accordance with the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.\n* Must NOT be currently serving in the Public service.\n* Must NOT be serving as a member of more than one (1) board of a public entity.\n* In the case of degrees obtained from foreign universities, certification from the Commission for University Education (CUE) must be provided.\n\n### Duration of Appointment and Terms of Service\n\n* Appointed for a period not exceeding three (3) years, with eligibility for re-appointment for one (1) further term.\n* Allowances payable shall be as determined by the Government from time to time.\n\n### Mandatory Clearances\n\nApplicants must attach current clearance certificates from the following bodies:\n1. Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)\n2. Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)\n3. Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)\n4. Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI)\n5.
