Job Description
Harley’s Limited is a well-established company in Kenya, registered in 1953, specializing in the sales, marketing, and distribution of healthcare products and pharmaceuticals. We are seeking a Medical Promotions Manager to lead our strategic promotional efforts. The primary objective of this role is to develop and execute evidence-based medical promotion strategies that strengthen our brand presence among healthcare professionals (HCPs) while ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Management and Medical Promotion Strategy: Develop and execute medical promotion strategies to strengthen brand presence among healthcare professionals (HCPs), ensuring ethical, evidence-based messaging and effective campaign performance.
HCP and KOL Engagement: Build and sustain strong relationships with HCPs and Key Opinion Leaders through scientific engagements, CME programs, and product-focused educational initiatives.
Campaign Planning and Execution: Design and implement integrated promotional campaigns in collaboration with cross-functional teams to support product lifecycle and launches.
Market Insights & Analytics: Analyse market data, prescription trends, campaign effectiveness and competitor activity to inform and refine promotional strategies.
Compliance & Governance: Ensure all promotional activities comply with regulatory requirements, PPB guidelines and internal SOPs, with proper documentation and approvals.
People Leadership: Lead, coach and develop a national team of Medical Representatives and Product Detailers, setting clear KPIs and driving continuous scientific training.
Financial & Budget Management: Plan, manage and monitor promotional budgets, track ROI and contribute to annual sales and promotional planning processes.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences, Clinical Medicine or related life-sciences fields.
Postgraduate qualifications in Marketing or an MBA is an added advantage.
A minimum of 7 years of experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare marketing/promotion.
At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
Proven experience in HCP engagement, CME delivery, scientific promotion and medical field force leadership.
Deep understanding of the Kenyan Pharmaceuticals regulatory and clinical environment.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills tailored to medical audiences.
Strong analytical, project management and campaign planning skills.
Proficiency in CRM tools, promotional tracking, Microsoft Office and data reporting systems.
High level of integrity, discretion with data and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
