Job Description
Garissa County Public Service Board is recruiting Medical Officers on contract terms for a period of three (3) years under Reference Number REF: GCPSB/HEALTH/2026/08/01.
Role Description
Medical Officers are responsible for providing comprehensive medical services including diagnosis, patient care, surgical procedures, emergency response, and community health education within the county health facilities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Diagnosing, caring for, and treating diseases.
Performing medical and surgical procedures.
Preparing for and responding to emergencies and disasters.
Participating in the management of medicines, medical instruments, and equipment.
Providing health education.
Maintaining medical records, health information, and data.
Counseling patients and their relatives on diagnosis and bereavement.
Teaching and coaching medical students, nursing students, and clinical officer interns.
Preparing requisite documents for registration.
Requirements for Appointment
Must be a Kenyan Citizen.
Possess a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
Successfully completed one (1) year internship from a recognized institution.
Valid registration license from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution.
