Job Description
Equity Afia is a network of medical entrepreneurs providing high-quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare to Kenyans. They are seeking a qualified Medical Officer to provide clinical leadership and high-standard medical care at their facility in Kiserian.
Role Purpose and Responsibilities
The Medical Officer is responsible for patient management, clinical decision-making, and ensuring adherence to healthcare policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include:
Diagnosing and treating patients with high clinical standards.
Managing clinical documentation and reporting via Health Management Information Systems (HMIS).
Providing leadership within the clinical team and interacting effectively with stakeholders.
Ensuring compliance with the laws of Kenya, regulations, and health schemes.
Participating in patient management and clinical decision-making processes.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor of Medicine or Bachelor of Surgery from a recognized university (MBChB or MBBS).
Registered and currently licensed by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
At least one (1) year of internship experience in either a public or private hospital.
Valid certificates in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Knowledge of healthcare policies, documentation, and reporting procedures.
Proficiency in computer skills, specifically Health Management Information Systems.
Good report writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Competencies
At least 2 years of professional experience.
Leadership experience in a clinical setting.
Conversant with both public and private sector health operations.
