In the Mechanical Technician role, you will execute maintenance jobs in line with the department's planned activities, goals, and objectives, taking into consideration production, process, and safety requirements under challenging working conditions including dust, excessive heat, confined spaces, working at height, and high noise levels.

Operations
Adhere to the Group Health and Safety Policy and ensure compliance with the OSHA Act in all operations by employees and contractors.
Ensure compliance with the Environmental Policy and Bamburi environmental standards, conducting maintenance activities to minimize environmental impact.
Ensure housekeeping in your working area is completed and kept clean at the end of every shift.
Attend to breakdowns, investigate, trace, and rectify faults.
Perform all allocated maintenance tasks within the section.
Propose modifications or equipment improvements for better performance or safety to the Supervisor.
Carry out Risk Assessments on all tasks prior to execution.
Perform energy isolation prior to working on equipment as per procedure or as evaluated in the Risk Assessment.
Perform on-call duties as programmed.
Participate in weekly or shutdown planning activities.
Perform duties and tasks according to safety requirements and attend related safety meetings.
Report to the Supervisor when the plant or part of the plant must be stopped for maintenance.
Assist in training apprentices and others when required.
Perform plant inspections as instructed by the Supervisor and provide verbal or written feedback.
Ensure daily reports on work completion and handover of equipment are completed.
Raise notifications and supervise contractors working with the team.
Your Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Preferred Degree in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering.
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with three years of experience in a heavy manufacturing industry.
Good knowledge of Health & Safety Rules and Regulations.
Good knowledge of mechanical equipment.
Good knowledge of machining and measurements.
Energetic, reliable, and innovative.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Ability to work with minimum supervision.
