The Aga Khan Academy Nairobi, operated by Aga Khan Education Service Kenya (AKESK), is seeking a dedicated and qualified Mathematics Teacher. The Aga Khan Education Service Kenya is a non-profit organization with extensive experience in operating schools in Kenya. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education and fostering a positive learning environment that aligns with the school's mission.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and deliver high-quality Mathematics lessons in line with the school’s vision and mission.
Collaboratively develop unit and lesson plans for the curriculum.
Ensure students acquire excellent knowledge and skills to make progress, achieve their targets, and prepare for the next stage of their careers.
Produce necessary academic documentation, including Unit plans, Records of Work, Course outlines, and class analyses.
Differentiate lessons effectively to match the diverse needs and learning styles of all students.
Involve learners in various learning activities such as storytelling, role plays, and numbers/letters recognition.
Display learners’ work in the classroom to showcase their abilities and finished projects.
Plan and lead regular excursions to expose students to different learning environments.
Observe student behavior and provide guidance to improve self-confidence and teach social values.
Support and guide learners with learning differences and behavioral challenges.
Manage and update student progress records and prepare comprehensive reports for parents.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of B- in O-levels.
Certification: Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Experience: At least 2 years of teaching experience.
Curriculum Knowledge: Be conversant with the new Competency Based Education (CBC) framework.
Additional Subject: Ability to teach an additional subject will be considered an added advantage.
Technical Skills: Working knowledge of MS Office computer applications.
