Windle International Kenya is a leading provider of education and training for refugees and communities affected by conflict in East Africa. We are seeking a qualified Mathematics/Physics Teacher to deliver high-quality instruction and support student development within our educational framework.
Role Overview
The role involves planning and delivering lessons, managing classrooms, and assessing student progress. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe and inclusive learning environment and providing guidance to students on both academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction and Lesson Delivery: Plan and teach lessons in line with the curriculum, using appropriate teaching methods to support student understanding and engagement.
Assessment and Evaluation: Prepare tests, assignments, and exams; mark and provide feedback; monitor and record students' academic progress.
Classroom Management: Maintain discipline, create a safe and inclusive learning environment, and manage student behavior effectively.
Student Support and Guidance: Mentor and guide students on academic and personal development, identify learning difficulties, and refer cases where necessary.
Professional and Administrative Duties: Attend staff meetings, prepare schemes of work and lesson plans, keep records, communicate with parents/guardians, and participate in school activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Education.
At least two years of post-graduation teaching experience.
Valid registration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Mastery of office software (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Ability and willingness to live, work, and travel in a fast-paced and potentially insecure environment, adhering to strict security guidelines.
