Windle International Kenya is seeking a qualified Mathematics and Chemistry Teacher to join their team. Windle International is a leading provider of education and training for refugees and communities affected by conflict in East Africa and the Horn of Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education and training to students, ensuring they are well-equipped to contribute to peaceful and tolerant communities.
Responsibilities
Instruction and Lesson Delivery: Plan and teach lessons in line with the curriculum, using appropriate teaching methods to support student understanding and engagement.
Assessment and Evaluation: Prepare tests, assignments, and exams; mark and provide feedback; monitor and record students' academic progress.
Classroom Management: Maintain discipline, create a safe and inclusive learning environment, and manage student behavior effectively.
Student Support and Guidance: Mentor and guide students on academic and personal development, identify learning difficulties, and refer cases where necessary.
Professional and Administrative Duties: Attend staff meetings, prepare schemes of work and lesson plans, keep records, communicate with parents/guardians, and participate in school activities.
Qualifications and Experience
A degree in Education.
At least two years post-graduation experience in teaching.
Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Mastery of office software including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Able and willing to live, work, and travel in a fast-paced and potentially insecure environment, adhering to strict security guidelines.
