Mathematics & Business Studies Teacher

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop the school's ethos according to directions from the Directors and Principal.
• Teach classes, ensuring planning, preparation, recording, and assessment meet diverse learning needs.
• Support initiatives decided by the Principal and staff.
• Plan tasks using differentiation to meet the needs of all students.
• Set clear targets based on prior attainment for student learning.
• Provide a stimulating classroom environment with accessible resources.
• Keep efficient records of work, integrating formative and summative assessments into planning.
• Report to parents on student progress and attainment.
• Maintain discipline in accordance with the school's behavior policy.
• Participate in meetings regarding school management, curriculum, and organization.
• Lead and direct support staff within the classroom.
• Participate in performance management systems for service delivery.
• Attend staff meetings, seminars, and co-curricular events.
• Carry out supervisory and out-of-school duties as required.
• Ensure student attendance and report absences to management.
• Maintain a professional image through appropriate dress and conduct.
• Perform other duties as directed by senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Education degree (Education) with a Mathematics & Business Studies option or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Must be a registered member of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
• A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a recognized junior school.
