The Open University of Kenya (OUK) is recruiting academic staff specializing in Marketing, Procurement, and Project Management. This role involves delivering high-quality digital content, supporting students in a virtual learning environment, and contributing to the university's academic mission across several key specializations.
Areas of Specialisation
Candidates should possess expertise in one or more of the following domains:
- Marketing: Global Marketing, Digital Marketing, Marketing Analytics.
- Procurement: Negotiation and Supplier Relations, Procurement Law and Ethics, Electronic Procurement, Strategic Supply Chain and Sustainability, Procurement and Partnerships.
- Project Management: Project Formulation, Planning and Design, Project Implementation and Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting, Strategic Analysis and Models, Project Methodologies and Models.
Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures and facilitate learning via online and distance education platforms.
- Handle and manage digital content for specialized course units.
- Provide academic support and mentorship to students in a virtual environment.
- Contribute to the development of project methodologies and strategic analysis within the department.
- Maintain academic excellence and adhere to the university's ethics and standards.
Required Qualifications and Competencies
- An earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited University; OR a Master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited University (in special cases) with at least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level.
- Candidates applying with a Master's degree must be registered in good standing for a PhD in the relevant field.
- Proficiency in computer use with the specific ability to handle digital content.
- Demonstrated ability to support students online (essential for part-time and full-time teaching duties).
