Job Description
The Marketing Manager - Agribusiness will be responsible for developing and executing the organization's marketing strategy to drive growth and brand awareness within the agricultural sector. This role involves strategic brand management, multi-channel campaign leadership, and overseeing the marketing budget to ensure a high return on investment. The successful candidate will position the organization as a thought leader in agricultural technology and collaborate closely with sales and cross-functional teams to meet corporate objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Brand Management
Develop and execute the annual marketing strategy and calendar aligned with corporate objectives.
Build and maintain a robust corporate brand across all product lines and market segments.
Oversee marketing budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and measurable return on investment (ROI).
Conduct continuous market analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive dynamics, and growth opportunities.
Position the organization as a thought leader in the agricultural technology sector.
Product Marketing & Campaign Management
Lead new product and service launches with integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns.
Coordinate promotional activities including trade fairs, agricultural exhibitions, and farmer field days.
Develop compelling marketing materials — brochures, digital content, demonstration videos, case studies — to support sales teams.
Collaborate closely with Sales Managers to ensure seamless alignment between marketing activities and sales targets.
Design and implement customer acquisition and retention programs and manage promotional calendars for seasonal agricultural cycles.
Digital Marketing & Communications
Manage and optimize the company's online presence, including website updates, SEO, and SEM strategies.
Oversee content creation and management across all social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube).
Drive digital engagement initiatives that support brand awareness, lead generation, and customer education.
Implement email marketing campaigns and marketing automation workflows.
Collaborate with PR agencies to manage media relations and public communications.
Monitor online reputation and respond to customer feedback across digital channels.
Analyze digital analytics to inform strategy and demonstrate campaign effectiveness.
Market Research & Customer Insights
Conduct customer surveys, focus groups, and feedback collection to refine marketing strategies.
Analyze sales performance data to measure campaign effectiveness and market penetration.
Develop customer segmentation models and buyer personas.
Maintain and leverage a comprehensive database of current and prospective customers.
Track competitor activities and provide strategic recommendations.
Generate regular market intelligence reports for senior management.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team.
Provide guidance, professional development opportunities, and performance management.
Foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and accountability.
Liaise effectively with cross-functional teams including sales, technical, operations, and finance.
Manage relationships with external vendors — advertising agencies, graphic designers, printers, digital consultants, and media houses.
Coordinate with regional teams to ensure brand consistency across markets.

Achievement of marketing KPIs (brand awareness metrics, lead generation targets, market share growth).
Effective budget management and demonstrated ROI on marketing expenditure.
Successful execution and impact of product launches and promotional campaigns.

Requirements
Educational Requirements
Essential: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field.
Preferred: Master's degree in Marketing, MBA, or relevant postgraduate qualification.
Professional Experience
Minimum 6–8 years of progressive marketing experience in a senior capacity.
Industry Experience: Preferably in agribusiness, agricultural technology, FMCG, or B2B technology sectors.
Proven track record in managing integrated marketing campaigns from concept to execution.
Demonstrated experience in brand strategy development and implementation.
Strong background in digital marketing and e-commerce.
Added Advantage: Familiarity with agribusiness markets, farmer engagement, and agricultural customer segments in Kenya and East Africa.
