The Manufacturing Excellence Coordinator is responsible for driving business improvements and sustaining efficiency gains within the factory environment. This role involves maintaining deep operational knowledge of the Unilever Manufacturing System (UMS) pillar structure and integrating these pillars to eliminate losses and waste. You will be tasked with inculcating the UMS philosophy across all factory personnel while leading digital transformations and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
UMS Implementation: Maintain full operating knowledge of UMS pillar structure and ensure pillars inter-link to deliver and sustain business improvements. Inculcate the UMS philosophy of eliminating losses and waste.
Coaching & Mentoring: Teach, coach, and mentor semi-autonomous teams to utilize UMS tools, linking these to loss reduction in the factory.
Workshop Facilitation: Lead and facilitate UMS workshops focusing on priority losses, working closely with HR and the Manufacturing Manager to synergize training interventions.
Content Development: Support the development of local UMS training materials while leveraging global resources.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and prioritize losses in the production area. Apply rigorous Cost Deployment and the Zero loss concept to eliminate waste.
Digital Transformation: Act as the Nairobi Digital factory assistant lead in deploying DFOS, Buildapp modules, and other digital transformations.
Project Management: Champion PM activities at specific factory locations as required by the Manex and Engineering Managers.

Requirements
University degree, with a preference for Engineering.
1-2 years of experience in Supply Chain operations.
Experience in FMCG Manufacturing.
Strong business acumen and cross-functional business process knowledge.
Essential proficiency in Microsoft skills, including Power BI.
