Role Purpose\nThe role holder is responsible for the management of SWIFT-related matters to ensure availability and accessibility of SWIFT to the approved users as well as the coordination of the SWIFT-related developments for both the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) and the SWIFT community in Kenya.\n\n### Key Duties and Responsibilities\n\n#### Strategic Responsibilities\n* Participate in the development of payment strategies and policies in line with CBK’s strategy and national priorities.\n* Continually oversee the implementation of SWIFT upgrades at CBK using the latest technology and related cybersecurity programs.\n* Coordinate the implementation of SWIFT-related developments for the SWIFT community in Kenya.\n* Assist Banking and Payment Services leadership with ongoing and long-term management and development of the Bank’s resources and organizational capability.\n\n#### Technical and Operational Responsibilities\n* Oversee SWIFT Services unit functional responsibilities to ensure the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of the national payment system.\n* Work effectively as part of the management team to deliver on Key Result Areas and demonstrate core competencies.\n* Ensure continued availability of efficient, reliable, and secure payment systems that support the smooth functioning of the economy.\n* Ensure SWIFT compliance with the CBK Act, the National Payment System Act, and other adopted standards.\n* Keep abreast with payment trends, including Mobile Banking processes and platforms, and link this to improved Payment Policy and Banking requirements.\n* Monitor payment risks, including cyber risks, ensuring an adequate payment risk management framework is in place.\n* Promote system development as technology and market trends change.\n* Implement Audit and Oversight Recommendations.\n* Receive and approve application requests for settlement systems.\n* Monitor the impact of payment systems upgrades.\n* Organize and attend SWIFT regional and global events.\n* Respond to audit and oversight issues on the SWIFT system.\n\n#### Other Responsibilities\n* Participate in stakeholder committees and meetings.\n* Mentor and coach the SWIFT Services team to deliver on planned activities.\n* Oversee training of new staff in the section to ensure effective service delivery.\n\n### Qualifications and Experience\n* Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Banking, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Insurance, Law, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field of study.\n* Minimum of eight (8) years’ work experience in Payments Operations, Financial Services, Economics, Accounting, or similar operations.\n* At least four (4) years of experience in a supervisory capacity.\n* Professional qualification in Banking, Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field is an added advantage.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified?
